As a result of my Grandfathers research and information gathering, he was able to draw up our family tree. On his version, a number of gaps were left where other children that were known about were not included. 

In parallel, another branch of the family, descended from Davids grand-daughter Anne was also being researched. Anne had married a Samuel Cheetham, and the separate research also resulted in a family tree of the 'Cheetham' branch. My grandfather also held a copy of this family tree.

It was not until recently, when I re-drew the family tree electronically, that the two were combined into one complete family tree. The only direct line of male descendants is identified in red and runs from David Hartleys father William in 1703, to my twin sons, Thomas and Samuel, born in 2001.

The research on the family tree continues as more information comes to light, both from internet resources and from the information left by my Grandfather. I'm sure that as time goes on the family tree will see additions and corrections.
